About the Museum
The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History was established in 1957 and is perched on the scenic harbor waterfront in the Sports, Entertainment, and Arts (S.E.A.) district in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dedicated to exploration and education
Mission, Values, and History
Our mission is to engage guests at the intersections of science and history through programs, experiences, and exhibits

Our Vision
To be a place where every person discovers their connection to history and science, and the shared future we are creating together.
Our Values
We value science and history and believe that, when combined, they hold the potential to change lives and inspire discovery, exploration, and imagination. We understand that discovery often includes exposure to new ideas that challenge perceptions and long-held “truths.” By building connections around discovery, we can deepen engagement between the museum and its resources and our community.
We value all voices. We create a welcoming and accessible space where we stand committed to equity, value diversity, and treat all people with dignity and respect.
We value our community’s confidence and trust. We will always be grounded in the evidence-based facts of science and history, and we are committed to providing a safe, trusted place for those who interact with the CCMSH community, on campus and off.
We value our staff. We will strive to be the employer-of-choice for museum professionals in the region and nationally, building a reputation for excellence and setting new standards for museums in medium sized markets. We will cultivate a variety of funding strategies to assure organizational health.
We value our philanthropic community. We will ethically steward donor investments and respect donor intent and confidentiality. We will conserve, preserve, and manage our collection assets, evaluating and applying best practices to ensure that future generations may also learn from these objects.
A home to local history and scientific advancements over time.
The Museum serves over 75,000 visitors and promotes history, science exploration, and educational programming. The Museum is also the repository for hundreds of thousands of artifacts and historically significant items in its nearly 100,000 sq. ft. facility. The Museum engages and educates the public in science and history through exhibits and programming to inspire curiosity, understanding, and discovery.
